Pastor Emeritus

Rev. Jean Dade-Batchie

Jean as she is affectionately called was ordained by her mother, Rev. Laura Smith, Pastor of the Woods Temple Church in April 1960 in Chicago Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sacred Literature from New Vision Institute. After her graduation, she attended Religious Science International for 4 years to qualify as a New Thought Minister. She returned to New Vision Institute where she obtained a Doctorate in Comparative Religions. She has been a student in the Universal Foundation for Better Living for many years and has completed her course of study as a Previously Ordained Minister and is now an ordained UFBL Minister. She has always been a dreamer and expressing the goodness of God is her sole purpose. Jean is an author; her published book of Prayers is “Consistent Treatment Gets Results”. God has blessed Jean with the power of spiritual oratory. She has preached in several of the major cities in the United States.
Jean is recently retired after 44 years of pasturing (October 6, 2014). She was one of the founding Pastor’s of The Temple of Spiritual Truth, in Chicago Illinois, and commuted there for two weeks of the month for 22 plus years after relocating to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, in 1992. She is a member and Staff Minister and teacher at the Universal Truth Center in Miami, Florida where the Rev. Rev. Charles Taylor is the Interim Senior Minister. Jean is a Past National President of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. it is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. It is comprised of 45 chapters and 6 regions. She is very active in her local chapter, Iota Chapter of Fort Lauderdale, Florida serving and chairing various committees. Jean is a true Humanitarian, her love is felt wherever she goes and by whomever she is with. Jean loves unconditionally. In the 21st century Jean has a great vision; a vision when all men shall be free in their minds; that each person will realize consciously that they have the power to change their thinking and in so dong will change their lives for the better. Each person will know that it is God’s will that every individual on the face of this earth should live a healthy, happy and prosperous life. (From the UFBL statement of What We Believe.) Jean is a credit to Christian womanhood and lets the world know who and what she represents---GOD. She loves God and God loves her. You can tell that God loves her by the way that God treats her.
